How to Format Legal Data in PDF Files Automatically
Six legal skills turn PDF agreements, compliance files and bylaws into red-flag clauses, clause structure, risk scores and drafts, run locally on Windows.
Skills in this bundle
Agreement Lens
Deterministic red-flag clause scan for agreements and NDAs (level-filtered) + clause structure + risk score. (Action Co-pilot: generates next-best-actions (actions.json), follow-up tasks and calendar reminders on top of the analysis — what to act on today.)
Agreement Drafter
Agreement Drafter via runtime LLM orchestration (focus x detail params; NL->structured artifact). (Action Co-pilot: generates next-best-actions (actions.json), follow-up tasks and calendar reminders on top of the analysis — what to act on today.)
Bylaws Reviewer
Deterministic bylaws review (mandatory-clause checklist per Company Law). (Action Co-pilot: generates next-best-actions (actions.json), follow-up tasks and calendar reminders on top of the analysis — what to act on today.)
Compliance Lens
Deterministic compliance red-flag clause analysis (severity filter + structure + score). No LLM. (Action Co-pilot: generates next-best-actions (actions.json), follow-up tasks and calendar reminders on top of the analysis — what to act on today.)
Compliance Drafter
Compliance Drafter via runtime LLM orchestration (focus x detail params; NL->structured artifact). (Action Co-pilot: generates next-best-actions (actions.json), follow-up tasks and calendar reminders on top of the analysis — what to act on today.)
Compliance Maestro
Compliance Maestro via runtime LLM orchestration (focus x detail params; NL->structured artifact). (Action Co-pilot: generates next-best-actions (actions.json), follow-up tasks and calendar reminders on top of the analysis — what to act on today.)
Hand a PDF agreement, compliance policy, or set of bylaws to Nexus Runner and run Agreement Lens, Compliance Lens, and Bylaws Reviewer for a level-filtered red-flag clause list, clause structure, a risk score, and missing mandatory articles. When you need a document back, pass those findings to Agreement Drafter, Compliance Drafter, and Compliance Maestro; all six skills run on your own Windows machine.
- Agreement Lens and Compliance Lens scan PDF clauses with a severity filter and return clause structure plus a risk score, with no LLM in the loop.
- Bylaws Reviewer checks a set of bylaws against the mandatory-clause checklist and lists every gap with a completeness score.
- Agreement Drafter, Compliance Drafter and Compliance Maestro turn the findings into structured drafts by focus and detail level, and never invent data that is missing from the input.
- Each legal skill costs 5 Nex per run and Compliance Maestro 3 Nex, so a full six-step pass is 28 Nex; the free tier gives 200 Nex a month, reset at the start of each month.
- Nexus Runner 1.0.10, Windows 10/11 x64 only, with skills executing on your machine.
What automated legal formatting of PDFs means
It means turning PDF agreements, NDAs, compliance policies and bylaws from long text you can only read page by page into comparable structured results: clauses split by structure, red flags marked by severity, risk and completeness expressed as scores, and gaps listed item by item. MCP Nexus does that step with three deterministic skills, Agreement Lens, Compliance Lens and Bylaws Reviewer, then lets Agreement Drafter, Compliance Drafter and Compliance Maestro carry the findings into a deliverable draft. All six run inside Nexus Runner on your machine, and the PDF stays on your local disk.
How the six skills fit together
Three ways to do this work
| MCP Nexus | Manual work | Generic cloud AI | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where the file goes | The PDF is parsed on your machine and the content stays on your network | The file stays local, but a person reads it page by page | The file has to be uploaded to a third-party cloud |
| Consistency of results | Scan skills run deterministically, so repeat runs agree | Depends on individual experience; two reviewers differ | The same question can produce different answers on re-ask |
| Shape of the output | Structured results: red-flag list, clause structure, risk score, gap list | Scattered comments in markups and email threads | Mostly prose that still has to be reorganised by hand |
| Cost basis | 5 Nex per legal skill run, 3 Nex for orchestration, 200 Nex a month on the free tier | Billed against in-house or outside counsel hours | Usually a per-seat or usage subscription |
| From scan to draft | Drafting and orchestration continue in the same conversation | Handed to another person and rewritten from a template | You stitch several prompts together yourself |
Real use cases
FAQ
Can PDF contracts be analysed directly, or do I have to convert them first
You can pass the PDF straight in. Agreement Lens and Compliance Lens read the file, split it into clauses, and then run the red-flag scan, so there is no format conversion or manual copy-paste step.
Does my contract get uploaded to the cloud
Skills execute inside Nexus Runner on your own machine and the PDF stays on your local disk. The three scanning skills, Agreement Lens, Compliance Lens and Bylaws Reviewer, call no LLM at all.
How much does one automated pass cost in Nex
A full pass across all six skills is 28 Nex: 5 Nex for each of the five legal skills and 3 Nex for Compliance Maestro. The free tier gives 200 Nex per month, reset at the start of each month; Pro is 49 CNY a month with 3000 Nex, and Enterprise is 299 CNY a month with 50000 Nex.
Is the risk score made up by a language model
No. Agreement Lens, Compliance Lens and Bylaws Reviewer are deterministic rule scans, and their scores and gap lists come from fixed checklists and clause structure. Agreement Drafter, Compliance Drafter and Compliance Maestro do use the runtime LLM, and they leave missing data unfilled rather than inventing it.
What do I need to run these legal skills
